Frequently Asked Questions
What do I need to bring with me?
Holiday cheer. You don't really have to bring much else. We provide saws and kneeling pads, and we also have twine so you can tie the tree to the top of your car or secure it in the back. Since it usually rains during the holiday season, it's best to wear clothes and shoes you don't mind getting a little dirty. We also have tree helpers available if you need an extra hand.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We only accept cash and personal checks (photo identification required for personal checks).
Do you sell wholesale?
No.
What can I do to help the longevity of my tree?
The first step is by getting a u-cut tree. By cutting your own tree you are getting the frestest cut possible. There are also a few simple steps to help your tree last through the season:
- The first is one of the most important. DO NOT trim the bark off the circumference of the trunk. The tree carries the water up from the trunk in between the bark and the wood. People often try trimming the bark in order to get the trunk to fit in the tree stand, but this will kill the tree.
- Once you cut the tree the bottom of the trunk will begin to close, limiting how much water it will be able to drink. Unless you can get the tree into a stand with water within 20-30 minutes, it's best to cut an extra inch off the bottom before placing it in the stand.
- If your tree stand has a flat bottom, do not let the tree go all the way down. If the bottom of the trunk is sealed it will not be able to drink.
- The first couple days after a tree is cut is when it will drink the most. Be sure to check the water level everyday (in the morning and the evening) and don't let it get too low. Large trees will require more water so don't forget to check the stand more often.
- Keep the tree away from heat sources as this will cause it to dry out faster.
Do you have pre-cut trees?
In years past we have offerred a selection of pre-cut trees, but due to continued shortage of wholesale trees in the area we will not be able to offer any this season.
Do you have any 10-12 ft trees?
Due to the high demand for tall trees each year, our trees are not able to grow that tall.
What is the purpose of shaking a tree?
Shaking a tree gets rid of the debris that may be stuck in the branches and needles so you don't have to bring it into your home. Shaking will reduce the amount of needles on your floor and help activate the wonderful smell of your tree.
What is baling a tree?
Baling a tree wraps it in a netting that holds the branches up and makes the tree thinner so it's easier to transport, get into the stand, and setup in your home. Once the tree is standing up straight you can cut the netting and remove it from around the tree.
Why is it better to cut down a tree instead of re-using an artificial tree?
It's actually more environmentally friendly then re-using an artificial tree, and it helps support the local economy. For further information you can read our page about Real Trees vs. Artificial Trees.
How long does it take a Christmas tree to grow?
Different types of trees grow at different rates. An average 6 ft Noble Fir could take 5 or 6 years while a Douglas could grow 6 ft in 3 or 4 years.
Are dogs allowed?
Dogs are allowed if they are on a leash. Please be courtious of other people and pets though, if your dog does not get along with other dogs it might be best to leave them in the car or at home. As always, please pick up after your dog.
